What is Better Barrel Races?
Better Barrel Races is a new exciting organization made up of independent producers who have served the barrel racing community for years. We have come together in an effort to better serve you by cooperating in scheduling shows, putting forth a code of ethics for producers, providing a unified awards program you can work towards, and bringing a big added money finals to the central United States! These producers, Heartland Tour, WinMore Barrel Races and XL Enterprises, representing hundreds of combined years of experience, not only in producing events, but in competing in them as well.
What is the Better Barrel Races code of ethics?
BBR's code of ethics is a set of guidelines a producer must follow in order to have their shows endorsed by Better Barrel Races. These guidelines cover things ranging from show advertising, to format and payoff percentages, to general guidelines for running an event. Rather than setting a hard and fast set of rules that producers must follow, the BBR code of ethics sets general limits that barrel racers can trust, while allowing you, as an independent producer, the freedom to continue providing a variety of events that barrel racers can attend.
What type of shows will be BBR Endorsed Shows?
Better Barrel Races wants to offer something for every level of barrel racer. We plan to endorse a broad range of events ranging from local, weeknight shows to weekend super shows. Better Barrel Races' Endorsement applies only to Open Divisional or Sweepstakes, Futurity and Derby format classes of a show. Classes limiting the rider based on age, sex, etc. or requiring other qualifications to enter are not considered as part of the endorsed show, and participants in those classes will not be awarded points.
What are the benefits of having my show(s) BBR Endorsed?
There are many benefits to having your shows endorsed by Better Barrel Races. Below is a list of the ways in which BBR can help promote and advertise your events.
You can display the BBR logo on your advertising letting barrel racers to know your show will run by a set of standards they can trust.
Your show will count as a Qualifier for the BBR Finals and will offer points towards the BBR's year-end awards program.
Your show will be listed on the BBR calendar of events both in our paper and online.
What are the costs for having my show endorsed.
The approval fee is $40 for a single race show. Additional races in a show are $15ea . There is also a special race that applies only to weeknight awards series. It is $40 for the first show and $15 each for up to five additional shows in the series.
What do I need to submit after my show and where do I send it?
After your show is completed, you will need to submit a completed Show Summary Form, a complete listing of the results including each contestant's BBR membership number, and any membership applications and fees accepted at the show. If you results are already in electronic format, they can be emailed to betterbarrelraces@gmail.com

The 2010 BBR World Finals will be held April 27-May 1, 2011, at the Oklahoma State Fairgrounds in Oklahoma City, OK. There will be at least $50,000 Added Money, but our goal is much higher than that! All added money will go to one open class which will be run on a 5D format with ½ second splits.
